Introduction to the English Research Core:
The English Research Core at Imam Sadiq University was established in December 2022 with the aim of enhancing linguistic knowledge and research related to the English language at the Women’s campus. This research core seeks to provide a scientific and research-oriented platform for students at various academic levels and university faculty members, enabling them to engage in academic interactions. The goal is to make progress in broader fields of science and knowledge, while advancing their respective specialized fields internationally.
Main Objectives:
The main objective of the core is to elevate the academic level and language proficiency of its members and provide high-quality, credible translations. Additionally, establishing international communication ties through the training of professional translators is another key goal.
Current Activities:
Currently, the core offers specialized translation services to university faculty members and other research units, participates in scientific production, translates books and research articles, and collaborates with external organizations.
Long-term Goals:
Future plans include increasing scientific output and creating a broad network of dedicated, specialized, and committed students in the field of English. The core also plans to develop international collaborations with individuals, academic centers, think tanks, research institutes, universities, and foreign organizations.
Members:
The current members of the English Research Core include Ms. Seyyedeh Athena Razavi (Core Secretary) and five non-permanent members from undergraduate and graduate students in fields like Islamic Jurisprudence, Philosophy, Educational Sciences, and Law. Note that the core members may change over time, as some may leave, and new members may join. To join the research core, please refer to the "Call for Collaboration" section.
It is worth mentioning that to maintain and improve the academic level of the core members, an English language exam will be held in-person and in writing. This step aims to prevent a decline in quality and ensure members' language abilities are maintained. It helps evaluate the academic performance of each member, allowing us to design educational programs when necessary or prevent continued participation if needed. Our goal is to create an environment where members can achieve greater success by maintaining their knowledge and skills at a high level. Additionally, participation in one of the projects during a semester, chosen optionally, is a minimum requirement to continue membership in the research core.
English Research Core Activities (Winter 2022 - Summer 2024):
1. Translation of Imam Sadiq University Website (Skill Elimination)
This project aimed at improving international accessibility and providing an English version of the university website.
2. Providing Specialized Translation Services for Research Publications (Articles, Books, and Professional Resumes) of Faculty Members
This includes translating articles, books, and professional resumes for university faculty members during the academic year 2023-2024:
- Article: Dr. Seddigheh Mahdavi Kani, Professor of Islamic Jurisprudence, on "The Role of Moral Values in Islamic Law."
- Several Article Abstracts: Dr. Nargess Izadi, Professor of Law, on "The Frequency of Psychological Pressure on Juvenile Criminal Law Violators."
- Professional Resume: Dr. Kobra Pourabdollah

3. Scientific Collaboration with Imam Sadiq University's Female Campus Publication Office
This collaboration involved translating references used in articles for the university's official journals:
- Translation of references for Family Law and Jurisprudence Journal (Grade A)
- Translation of references for Educational Sciences from an Islamic Perspective Journal (Grade A)
- Translation of references for Sinavi Wisdom Journal (Grade B)
4. Translation of a Religious Novel
This project involved translating the full religious novel "Captain" by Fatemeh Fadaei, published by Chook Publications in Gilan Province, during the summer of 2024.
5. Organizing a Scientific Session on Self-Study Methods and Resources for Learning English
This session was held in cooperation with the English Student Scientific Association in July 2024, introducing appropriate methods and resources for self-studying English by Miss Athena Razavi.

6. Scientific Collaboration with the Public Relations and International Affairs Office of Tehran's Education Department
This collaboration involved writing articles and scientific notes for the journal Foreign Language Education (Roshd) in May 2024, covering topics such as skill enhancement, teaching methods for children and adolescents, and educational technology.
