Sayyeda Fatima Al Masumah

Lady Fatima Masumah (A) is not considered one of the 14 most holy figures in shia Islam.Her brother Imam Rida gave her the Masumah name..which means infallible or sinless in shi ism.

Fatima Masumah became saint because of her closeness to Imam Ali al Rida(a.s) and her father Imam Musa Al Kadim(a.s)..

She is said to have been learned various Islamic sciences and the teachings of the prophet Muhammad.

Her brother Imam Al Rida(a.s) stated that visiting the shrine of Fatima Masumah is equal to visiting his own shrine in mashhad, demonstrating the honor of his sister. As other Imams declare that anyone who visits Fatima Masumah(A)’s shrine will surely go to heaven, paradise..

She was born in Medina in 173 AH ad spent the first six years of her life learning alongside her father Imam Musa al Kadim..

When she was ten years old Harun Rashid the 5th Abbasi Caliphate sent her father to prison..

In 200Ah al Mamun called for Ali al RIDA to leave for khorasan and Fatima Masumah(A) was forced to live apart her brother. Imam  Rida (a.s)sent her a letter and asked her to join him..

She set off in a caravan of 23 family and friends of Imam  Rida(A).

Unfortunately, her caravan never made it to khorasan and Fatima Masuma(A)never reached her brother.

They were attacked by enemies of shias at Saveh..Fatima Masumah(A)survived ,but was forced to watch the murders of 23 close family members and friends. It is written that Sayyeda Fatima(A) was then poisoned by a woman enemies. She was became ill and asked to be taken to Qom, she died and was buried in her hosts land.

A tradition Imam Sadiq (a.s) which says:”A lady my children, by the name of Fatima will be buried in Qom. Whoever visits her (shrine), will certainly be admitted to heaven.

Imam Sadiq (a.s) gave this glad tidings even before the birth of his son , 7th Imam Musa al kadim(a.s)  the father of the lady Fatima Masuma (A).
